Mindful Reflection

by Dr. Tonya Caylor
May 31, 2025

Michael Bungay Stanier reframes mindfulness as a better sense of reality - more situationally aware.

He explains it as the ability to sort through data and separate it from our judgments.

Currently, in whatever situation you're in - ask yourself the key question he poses:

What do I know to be true about:

A. The external facts of the situation?

B. The internal subjective reality of my experience?

When you slow down and think through it with this approach, what becomes more clear to you?

A role-play script for...

Especially Jean, she would draw fun pictures and write nice things in a note folded up for me at school: "To Tonya, my friend. From: Jean, your friend." There were bad kids like Eddie - who would come to our street and try to bully the guys. (I had to stand up for them and ran him off our street on more than...
