1% Reflection

by Dr. Tonya Caylor
Jun 03, 2025

I invite you this week to consider what percent of your average work week includes joy. When you drill down - what are those experiences that offer soul-satisfying glimmers?

If it's below 20% - there is some good news - slowly increasing up to 20% will be protective against burnout. If it's above 20%, well, the good news is, you can still add more.

Now, this is the part of the reflection that requires you to point your brain in the direction you want it to go and get out of its way.

-More intentional connection with co-workers.

-Taking a 10-minute walk outside at lunch.

-Look for things to be grateful for.

-Contribute in a new way.

I can't wait to hear what you come up with. Slowly and steady incremental change has large returns on investment...

The CBME pilot participants showed us what it looks like to lead through the mess. They navigated growing pains, limited time and faculty, skeptical colleagues an...

The meal came with this quote came tucked in tableware: “Work. Keep digging your well. Water is there somewhere.” It stayed with me—not just because it was wise, but because it met me in a season that’s been full of effort. Of showing up. Of planting ...
