Dr. Clements is the Chair of Family and Community Medicine, the Nancy and Warren Furey Professor of Community Medicine, Professor of Family Medicine and Medical Education, and was the inaugural Program Director for the McGaw Northwestern Family Medicine Residency at Lake Forest. Dr. Clements completed both medical school and family medicine residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She has completed fellowships in Medical Bioethics, Health Policy and Integrative Medicine.
Dr. Clements has been a national leader in medical education for the past several decades, serving on medical school campuses and through multiple leadership roles in organized medicine. She is the Chair of the National Resident Matching Program, serves on the Association of Departments of Family Medicine Board of Directors and is a past president of the Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors. Her research interests include primary care work force issues, curricular innovation and health policy.
Her interest in coaching began as a way to help learners and colleagues understand and navigate the challenges and opportunities of a career in medicine, from medical school and residency into mid and late career. She and her husband have 7 children, 15 grandchildren and one very spoiled goldendoodle.

Kelly Derbin, MD, MSEd
Kelly Derbin, MD, MSEd, ACC is a Family Physician who currently practices in a large multi-specialty group, Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group (PAFMG), in the San Francisco Bay area.
Kelly’s career began as a faculty member for Family Medicine residency training programs in Alabama, Illinois and Indiana, where she mentored students and residents, taught one on one and in group settings, and developed and implemented educational curricula. In 2009 she returned to her home state of California to join PAFMG. She has held various leadership roles. She is passionate about supporting and developing leaders to be successful in their roles while they connect with meaning and purpose in their leadership journey.
Kelly's undergrad and medical training took place at UC Berkeley, UCLA, and USC.
Kelly is a life-long learner and feels that coaching was a natural next step for personal and professional growth. Kelly is a UC Davis trained Leadership Coach who is ICF, International Coaching Federation, certified at the ACC level.
Kelly lives in Los Gatos with her husband and 3 cats. She finds balance in her life through mindfulness, exploring the outdoors, cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Kelly is not taking new external clients at this time.
Grace Shih, MD, MAS
Grace Shih, MD MAS is Associate Professor at the University of Washington (UW) Department of Family Medicine. She completed her family medicine residency at Brown University and her Fellowship in Family Planning at University of California, San Francisco along with her Masters.
She has had various leadership roles over the years and is currently the Director of the Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, Idaho (WWAMI) Family Medicine Residency Network (FMRN) and Co-Director of the UW Reproductive Health Advocacy Project (RHAP) Fellowship.
She has an outpatient family medicine practice in Seattle, WA.
In her free time, you can find her wrestling with her kids, adoring her dog, or trying out new recipes and restaurants.

It made sense to offer a place of gathering, connection, crowd-sourcing, processing, and finding the collective wisdom to move forward in our best approaches in the smaller community of Joy FM Coaching. The sessions will not be recorded. Registration is free but required.
